The Single Use Carrier Bags Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 introduces modifications to s.77(4) of, and Sch. 6 to, the Climate Change Act 2008, and allows the Department of the Environment (DoE) in Northern Ireland to introduce regulations that require any charges collected by retail outlets for single-use carrier bags to be paid to the DoE.
